Rifle Shooting Individual Training Programme
The law dictates the initial first visit will be non-shooting but familiarisation with the members and equipment and confirmation that they are not prohibited by Section 21 of the Firearm Act from holding firearms and ammunition. The subsequent 3 or 4 Friday nights are “come and have a go sessions at £ 5.00 per session to see if you like rifle shooting.
If you do and want to learn more we then offer you a ten card training programme consisting of 4 No. 2 spot targets 3 No. 5 spot targets with a further 3 No. 10 spot targets. Additional cards can be added on completion of the set if required. The exact number of each type will be based on the individual’s ability.
The course can be based over a 10-week period, at one card per week however generally it is found that two cards per night is completed.
This offer includes full use of the club facilities, equipment and ammunition to carry out the shoot and the training will be on a ‘one to one’ basis.
Unless the interested party has a firearm certificate for Small-bore shooting the ammunition must not be taken away from the range and a police declaration must be completed prior to the course being undertaken. This can be completed on the first night. The ammunition must be lodged in the club armoury.
The club currently using the Vauxhall Rifle Club (VRC) range, Gipsy lane, Luton and meets on Friday evenings throughout the year. This is temporary until the new BSSA county range facility is constructed which a present is in the planning stages.
For those unfamiliar with Venue360 (the sports centre incorporating the VRC), it is on Gipsy Lane, opposite the retail park, the post code is LU1 3JH.
The club opening hours being 6 - 9 p.m.
If you are interested in taking up this offer arrangements to complete to details can be made. Warm clothing is recommended in winter months. Tea and Coffee are available to purchase on club nights.

Juniors (under 18) £80.00
Payable on the first night of the course in advance.
